Mike Mayhew is a world-renowned illustrator responsible for some of the most exciting images in comics today. The amount of quality work associated to Mayhew is immense. His work has been seen in places like Marvel Comics, Wizard Magazine, and Upper Deck trading cards featuring the most famous licensed characters around. Mike specializes in photo-realism, and intense rendering of dynamic subjects. His techniques range from digital color over hand-drawn pencil art, to traditional painting using acrylic and brush. His studio is located in Glendale, CA. 

Mike began his art career in 1992 where he did interior pencil art for DC Comics. In 1993 he began a long affiliation with Zorro for Topps Comics. He moved to NYC in 1995 where he continued to draw comics, and pursued other aspects of commercial art and publishing, including a stint with Scholastic Publishing. In 2000, he became the regular series artist on Harris Comic's Vampirella, revolutionizing interior comic art with full pencil rendering. It was during this period that Mike's painting skills developed while doing the title's painted covers. Mike took his cover skills to Marvel Comics where he dazzled viewers with his depictions of Spider-Man, Mystique, Elektra, and She-Hulk. For Marvel Prose, he did art for two Mary Jane prose novels. DC Comics has also tapped into Mike's talent recently to do some Vs. trading cards. Mike has also produced work for film licensing, doing art for Fantastic Four and Superman Returns. In 2006, Mike's work includes the covers for Marvel Comics Storm mini-series and Marvel's Daily Bugle: Civil War Edition.
